well. i am missing typo3, which is running below a lot of e-activism websites.

You totally left out Openoffice.org!!!

The listed programs appear to be messaging systems of some sort or another, which I assume archive text, and perhaps some multimedia content. My eActivism interest is in leveraging tabulated data for noncommercial and activist purposes, so my software interest is in database engines (MySQL?) as well as something I don't know where in the public domain to find: data mining tools (sadly a pretty proprietary field, it seems) and of course CGI scripts for public use as data entry forms.

For informal and distributed, what about Usenet?
