Kevin Harris's comment about civic and public space in my last posting reminded me to look at the new blog he has started about neighbourhoods. Kevin - who works for the Community Development Foundation - is one of the few people I know who has an in-depth grasp of communities (online and off), places (real and virtual), networks, how the relevant parts of UK government work.... and is generous with his knowledge and contacts. Watch that space. OK, he's a friend and client, but what are blogs for if you can't do a little plugging? News of any other blogs dealing with neighbourhoods would be welcome. Maybe we could start a cluster.
It's not a blog but the Sustainable Tower Blocks Initiative does run an email list with the same aim. You can subscribe online at www.towerblocks.org.uk. This is about to become more active since we are just starting work with designers Battle McCarthy on a design guide for refurbishing residential blocks in the UK. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has contacts with interesting practice in the field of sustainability, tower blocks asnd work with tower block resident groups.
Thanks
